Recommended Specification

This type of shot is all about image quality. A good wide angle lens and plenty of control over the camera settings will produce excellent photos.

The best image quality is delivered by digital SLR cameras as they feature larger image sensors than digital compacts and their exposure settings are actually measured through the lens itself before the picture is captured.

There are however some very good quality advanced digital compacts with wide angle lenses but you do need to check that they feature a 1/1.8 inch image sensor and offer around a 6 megapixel rating.
