Recommended Specification

Photographs of people are one of the most common types of shot taken.

Today's basic compact digital cameras can take good pictures provided you have experimented with them so that you know what they can do well and what their limitations are.

Ideally you need a camera that works well in low light and has a good flash unit. Advanced digital cameras will give you more control over how you may wish to compose your picture and allow you to set specific exposure settings for different lighting conditions.
